Description

Treat yourself to a delicious catered meal and live entertainment in Camp Newaygo’s Lang Lodge, “on the ridge” overlooking picturesque Pickerel Lake. The event will feature a gourmet meal handcrafted by Ridge Specialties Executive Chef, Chris Gribble. The Winter on the Ridge menu includes; goat cheese gnocchi with garlic pesto and wild mushrooms, and your choice of pistachio and cumin crusted salmon or hoisin glazed beef brisket, along with winter root medley and twice baked potatoes, and for dessert – rum chatta bread pudding with honey glazed donuts, chocolate croissants, roasted apples, pecans and rum chatta glaze.  Iced tea, lemonade and coffee are provided with the meal, and a cash bar will be available. Wine buckets and wine glasses are available for guests bringing their own beverages.

Winter on the Ridge at Camp Newaygo, which starts at 6:30 pm, is $29.95 per person or only $58 per couple, and includes dinner and entertainment.  Sisters, Faith and Mary Pryer, who perform as Pryer Times, play a mix of styles including bluegrass and swing, but their take on songs you may already know are distinctly their own. With vocal harmonies and unique arrangements, Pryer Times will have you tapping your toes and fully engaged and entertained. Local residents may have seen them perform at TrueNorth’s annual volunteer recognition event, Community of Efforts on June 15 of last year, where they were a crowd favorite.

After dinner, why not strap on some snowshoes or cross country skis and head on out for a moonlit trek through the beautiful grounds of Camp Newaygo on the brand new “Sapling Trail” or their famous “Wetland Trail”? You may bring your own equipment, or Camp Newaygo has a limited quantity of snow shoes available for an additional rental fee. Interested parties should contact Camp staff directly to reserve equipment at the phone number listed below.

Attendance is limited to 150 people and is by RSVP only. Registrations forms are available on-line at www.campnewaygo.org/community-events. Interested parties may also register be contacting Camp Newaygo at (231) 652-1184 or campbiz@campnewaygo.org.
