TrueNorth's Empty Bowls

Description

The 19th annual TrueNorth Empty Bowls Luncheons, sponsored by Parvox Technology, are on Thursday, October 4, at TrueNorth Service Center, 6308 S. Warner Ave., Fremont; and Friday, October 5, at the Newaygo Coun­ty Commission on Aging, 93 S. Gibbs St., White Cloud. The luncheons are 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. each day.  Be a part of delivering food security in Newaygo County by attending either event, which benefits the TrueNorth Food Pantry, which served 1,569 individuals from nearly 350 households this year through July.

Local students and concerned individuals made and/or decorated the ce­ramic bowls, and each luncheon guest gets to select one to keep as their own, as a reminder that many among us have empty bowls at their homes. Additionally, each guest enjoys a meal of homemade soup buffet, bread, dessert, and beverage. Soups are donated by area restaurants.
Tickets are $20 each or $150 for a table of eight and are currently available for purchase in advance at TrueNorth, online at www.truenorthservices.org—click the Donate button, and select Empty Bowls from the sidebar; or by contacting Donna Hren at (231) 924-0641, ext. 144. Tickets are also available at the door the days of the events. Tickets can be purchased using cash, credit card, or with a check made payable to TrueNorth, with Empty Bowls on the memo line.  Event Sponsorships of $250, $500 and $1,000 are also offered. At the luncheons, there will be cases of food staples available for attendees to purchase at cost to help stock the TrueNorth Food Pantry. Other food donations will also be accepted.
