The River Country Chamber of Commerce of Newaygo County is excited to announce the return of the Mid-Michigan Lumberjack Competition a part of the 2017 Logging Festival in Downtown Newaygo as well as the addition of the Mid-Michigan Amateur Competition!
The Amateur Competition will be held on Saturday, September 3rd from 10 am - 11:30 am and is for anyone 18 years or older with a signed competition waiver form (available at event site) and isn't a regular competitor, your own equipment is not required, the Two Man Cross Cut does require a partner. Competition categories are subject to at least two competitors competing; all registered competitors will be entered in a drawing for a chance to win a Fistears Axe or Hatchet. Prizes donated by Cronk Ace Hardware. Each category winner will receive a Mid-Michigan Amateur Trophy. Sign up and see if you have what it takes to be the Mid-Michigan Amateur Competition winner! Registration is $5.00 per event.

Professional Lumberjack/jill Competition is a two day competition and will be held Saturday, September 3 with the top 6 competitors in each category competing for the top honors on Sunday, Sept. 4. This years prize purse totals $4,740.00. Registration is $7.00 per event with a maximum out of pocket cost of $49.00 per competitor. You must provide your own equipment to compete.
