A series of lunch-time workshops, webinars and round table discussions from local and regional speakers

March Lunch & Learn! This months topics are about security and safety with a two topics to help you keep your business, employees and customers safe.  

Our topics: "Small Business, Big Threat…Cyber Security & Crime Prevention"  Marie Elliot from Michigan Small Business Development Center and Sgt. L Walerczyk of the City of Newaygo Police Department who will be talking about a future course called CRASH (Civilian Response to Active Shooter). This class will educate civilians on the steps to help themselves as well as others avoid, deny and then defend discuss practical applications of a safer work environment, crime prevention & cyber security. 

Yes, even small businesses are at risk of cyber-attacks. In fact, small business is more vulnerable in many ways. This workshop is designed for small business owners (no technology background assumed) who have completed the Cyber Security Assessment provided by the MI-SBDC to determine if their company is at risk. The assessment (available via link below) is designed as an interactive learning tool that increases your understanding and preparation for managing your business security risk. It may take 20 to 45 minutes to complete and includes multiple perspectives that can help you understand - and ultimately reduce - your vulnerability as a small business. Post training will be available through your SBDC consultant as well as members of the Ryan ??  of the City of Newaygo Police Department Marie will provide follow up to support you in the refinement of your plan and continued success of your business.
