Description

Growing Hope is a 14-week, Biblically-based, financial management program offered through Love INC of Newaygo County. The program is designed to walk with people, helping them to face and overcome financial and personal challenges in their lives. The program is incentive-based. Students are able to earn up to $45 each week in vouchers for punctuality, homework completion and attending personal growth/life skills classes. Though we are a Christian Ministry and our classes are Biblically-based, everyone is invited to participate no matter what your belief system is. There is no charge to attend our program classes.

Through Growing Hope you will:
• Track spending and organize financial records.
• Create and manage a working budget.
• Obtain and review your credit report
• Look at debt and debt reduction.
• Set realistic financial and personal goals
• Work with savings and emergency funds.

Following the14-week financial management class, motivated students have the option to continue on with 1-on-1 mentoring where they will work with a trained mentor (typically 3-18 months) on debt reduction, goal setting, living within a budget, establishing savings...striving to become financially self-sufficient. Personal Growth/Life Skills Classes are also offered to students who are enrolled in the Growing Hope Program. Two or three classes are offered each 7-weeks. These may include Bible Studies, Cooking, Simple Gifts, Life Skills, Boundaries, nutrition, minor home repairs, parenting, etc.

NOTE: Dinner is provided each Monday evening at 5:15 p.m. for all students and free childcare is available onsite at the program.
